Fostering Sibling Groups
Fostering Sibling Groups
Foster carers provide a loving, safe and secure family environment for children who are unable to live with their parents. Fostering gives young people opportunities they may never have had, offering them the best chance in life.
Looked-After-Children come from all different backgrounds and we try very hard to match them with foster carers who reflect their identities, which is why we need foster carers of all kinds of backgrounds and beliefs.
Whether you provide short-term, long-term or short breaks care, your support and guidance will have a positive impact on the rest of a young person’s life.
For many of us, our siblings are a big part of our lives, whether we love them or sometimes loathe them, we wouldn't want to be without them.
At Foster Care Solutions, we think keeping siblings together is important and we always do so where we can.
Going into care can be a strange and scary experience but having the familiarity of your brothers or sisters can make the transition must smoother for a young person.
If you feel you could foster a sibling group, you would be helping to change the lives of young people whilst nurturing a crucial family bond.
With your care and guidance, these children will receive a second chance in life.

I grew up in Newcastle and my family still live there, so my links with the North East are still strong.
I moved to London as a teenager and met my husband there, we lived happily in London, our four children were born and grew up in London, they are now adults. We recently welcomed our first grandchild. As a family we moved to the countryside in 2010 and have comfortably adapted to rural life.
I have worked within a fostering environment for over twenty years. For thirteen years I managed a contact service for "looked after children" most of whom lived in the foster homes of the agency I worked for. This involved liaising with birth parents, family members, foster carers and social workers, to ensure that contact was a positive experience for the children.
Nine years ago the agency I worked for became part of Futures group and I've continued to work with them in fostering.
Please feel free to call me at a time to suit you. I'm always pleased to talk about fostering, it's challenges and rewards. I look forward to hearing from you.
